Robert Ryland Percy, III is a retired attorney who practiced in Gonzales, Louisiana for over forty (40) years, working primarily in the areas of governmental law, civil litigation and commercial transactions.

Ryland holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University, a Master of Science degree in Administration from the University of Guam, and a Juris Doctor degree from the Louisiana State University Law Center.

Currently, Ryland serves as Board Chairman of the Baton Rouge General Medical Center/General Health System, and on the boards of the Ascension Parish Library and Gonzales Area Foundation.  He formerly served as attorney for the City of Gonzales, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Department, and the Pontchartrain Levee District.  He also served as Board Chairman of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Board Member of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, Board Member of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce, and Board Member of the River Parish Community College Foundation.

Ryland served for over thirty-seven (37) years in the United States Navy and United States Navy Reserve, retiring in 2006 as a Rear Admiral.  As Rear Admiral, he served as Commander of the Logistics Task Force Atlantic, Norfolk Virginia; Commander of the Naval Expeditionary Logistics Support Force, Williamsburg, Virginia; and, Director, Joint Reserve Forces, Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Ryland resides in Gonzales, Louisiana with his wife, Patti, and they are the parents of five (5) children and have thirteen (13) grandchildren.

Renovation of Civic Center and Old Kmart space, the City of Gonzales was chosen by the National Chamber of Commerce as one of the “Top Five Cities To Live In.”

It’s a new year, and we are continuing the path outlined in our Climate Action Plan forward for the City of Gonzales to be a leader in the state in reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by 30-40% from 2005 by 2030 to align with the state’s overall goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050 outlined here:

Mayor Barney Arceneaux Farewell
